School Age Program

A Day In The Life Of

Jasmine's day had not gone too smoothly. First she forgot her Math homework at home. Good thing that she was able to do it over this morning when she got to the School Age Program. While that wasn't how she wanted to spend her morning at least she wasn't in trouble with her teacher for not turning it in on time.

But then things got even worse - if that was even imaginable! She got one word on her spelling test wrong. And her best friend Marion got 100%. Next week she would be sure to study even harder for the test.

Then they went out for recess and nobody wanted to play freeze tag with her. So she ended up playing Marco Polo instead. That was fun too but not what she wanted to play.

Jasmine left her classroom and walked down the corridor to the School Age Program. She knew there would be a snack waiting for her and a friendly grown up willing to hear all about her disasterous day. Plus she was sure that someone in the program would be willing to play freeze tag. And she figured she would get her Math homework finished before she went home so that she could spend time playing a game with her Mom after supper.

As Jasmine entered the classroom she smiled with relief at the staff person and washed her hands so she could eat her snack of bananas with raisins and peanut butter. Her friends greeted her and Jasmine almost began to forget all about her "...Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day".

When her Mom came Jasmine was ready to go home and tell her mother about the good parts - and the bad parts - of the day.
